Bike OSU was started by graduate student Meredith Joy in the Fall of 2007 with a vision to make the Ohio State University a better campus for bicycles. In only one year Bike OSU has experienced a tremendous amount of success including:
- securing a meeting with President Gee in which $1.7 Million was pledged to finish the bike trail
- offering 5 bicycle workshops for free to OSU students
- hosted two Bicycle Pit Stops in which many organizations and bike shops gathered to celebrate the bicycle
- helped to re-establish the University Bikeways Committee to prioritize bicycle improvements
- hosted three events during Bike to Work Week
- led the OSU Bike to Work team towards over 2,500 miles ridden and over 100 miles of gasoline saved in just 4 days
Football games are better than ever now that you can ride you bike to a game and have the Pedal Instead valet keep it safe for you. To keep this service running, we need volunteers to work the games. You can help setup, staff the booth, or tear down. See the dates on the right and let me know when you would like to volunteer! It's a great way to get to know other cyclists, promote OSU football games, and serve the community.
